Location:

Phoenix, AZ

The Purchasing Supervisor will be charged with driving the continuous improvement of the existing supply chain model. This position will be focused on operating a total value chain approach to procurement. The chosen candidate will be expected to consistently execute the strategies that they set. The Purchasing Supervisor will be expected to develop key strategic partnerships and build relationships with suppliers around the country. The focus will be on issues of low cost, dependability, and the quality of relationships rather than just on price, considering the whole approach of the supplier OEM relationship including supplier development and supplier consolidation.

Candidates will be responsible for overseeing and developing the Phoenix procurement team within the company and at ensuring that their knowledge of procurement best practice is spread throughout the team.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure suppliers deliver on time.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers to improve on-time delivery and support company growth.
• Identify cost-effective sourcing options and collaborate with the Supply Chain team to implement them.
• Coordinate procurement activities to meet production schedules.
• Optimize order policies and lot sizes to reduce working capital.
• Maintain accurate data in our systems.
• Track key metrics such as shortage lists, purchase order compliance, and supplier performance.
• Include relevant content in negotiated agreements based on product families and company strategy.
• Develop new supplier relationships and strengthen existing ones.
• Align low-cost sourcing efforts with company expectations.
• Mentor and develop team members for improved performance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or as needed due to changes.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or similar field is preferred
• 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Excellent computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (ie Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
• Strong and professional communication skills both verbal and written
• Accurate data entry skills
• Demonstrates effective time management skills and is well organized

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience in Lean Manufacturing
• Experience in the automotive industry
