42RE, 42RH, 46RE, 46RH, 47RE, 48RE Transmission Failure after Installation

Chrysler or Jeep 42RE, 42RH, 46RE, 46RH, 47RE, 48RE

Issue:

A transmission failure shortly after replacement of transmission is installed.

Cause:

A restricted Auxiliary Transmission Cooler could be the cause of this issue. This could be overlooked during the flushing process because of a bypass tube that connects the two cooler lines together. It may appear that the Auxiliary Transmission Cooler has been cleared, when in actuality it has not.

Procedure:

When installing a remanufactured transmission prior to flushing the transmission cooler lines, if the vehicle is equipped with an external transmission cooler it must be replaced.  Failure to do so will void your warranty.
